Wexford teen d!:es in hospital after crash b last week

The family of a teenage girl who died in hospital after a crash in Co Wexford last week have said they are “heartbroken”.

Sophie Caulfield, 14, of Cluain Huighead, Co Wexford, was taken to Wexford General Hospital and later to Temple Street Children’s Hospital following a car crash that occurred in Sheastown, Wellngtonbridge at around 6.20am on Wednesday, 8 July.

Two males and another female were also in the vehicle at the time, and they were brought to hospital for various injuries, including broken bones.

Sophie, a student at St Mary’s Secondary School, New Ross, died in hospital on Friday, 17 July.

Her family described her as someone who “lit up so many lives”.
