• The Design: This specific version is a more “deluxe” model, likely made of satin or silk.

• The Ribbons: These were used to tie the garment around the waist or thighs to ensure it stayed secure under clothing.

• The Center Slot: You’ll notice a small buttonhole or metal clip mechanism in the center. This is where the ends of the bulky sanitary napkins would be threaded through and fastened.
