The nightmare began when Chilli unexpectedly suffered a major seizure—the very first of his life.

His owners, well-known UK social media influencers Ollie and Helena Cutts, rushed him toward an emergency veterinary clinic. Tragically, Chilli continued to seize throughout the entire journey. Once at the hospital, veterinary staff worked frantically for hours to bring the episodes under control.

During the crisis, Chilli’s internal body temperature spiked to a highly dangerous 41°C (105.8°F). When veterinary teams attempted to gently wake him from sedation, the violent seizures immediately returned. With few options left to protect his brain, doctors made the critical decision to place him into a medically induced coma.
